The rules (parliamentary authority) that Lonestar Mensa operates under consist of the following:
- The American Mensa Constitution
- The American Mensa Articles of Incorporation
- The American Mensa Bylaws
- The American Mensa Actions Still in Effect (ASIEs)
- The Lonestar Mensa Current and proposed Bylaws
- Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised. 10th edition, 2000, Da Capo Press
- The Lonestar Mensa Special and Standing Rules, which modify and expand upon the preceding sources
Once passed by the Lonestar Mensa Executive Committee, special and standing rules are maintained as Lonestar Mensa Actions Still in Effect (ASIEs).
The Bylaws Committee has developed a new set of bylaws for LSM, theses have been distributed to the membership at the end of August for balloting.
